Sunday 11 September 2022
— Foursomes Championship (Canadian format) at Nudgee Golf Club Bulka course, preceded by a light lunch.
Monday 12 September 2022
— 18 hole stroke at Royal Queensland Golf Club (home of the PGA Championship Tournament).
To be followed by a reception on the deck at RQ
Tuesday 13 September 2022
— 18 holes stroke at Brisbane Golf Club (one of Brisbane’s oldest golf club est. 1896).  Presentation dinner at BGC to follow.

The 2022 Australian Hickory Championships

On behalf of Hickory Golfers Queensland Inc. it is my privilege to invite you to join us to compete in the Australian Hickory Championships to be held in Brisbane in September 2022. The Championship is open to members of Hickory Golf Queensland Inc. and its affiliates the Australian Golf Heritage Society and the Golf Society of Australia. Members of international affiliates are also more than welcome.

The Championships will be played over three days with a Foursomes championship on Sunday followed by the Championship of  being 36 holes of stroke over the next two days on two different courses.

Come to sunny Queensland at the best time of the year to play golf the way it ought to be played. I look forward to welcoming you.

Conditions of play

Only original hickory clubs or approved replica hickory clubs will be permitted. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that his/her equipment complies. The guidelines can be found here. No distance measuring devices will be allowed. Failure to comply with either condition is disqualification.

Entrants will be required to hold a Golf Australia handicap (or handicap complying with the World Handicap System). Players without a complying handicap will play off scratch. The Championship Committee reserves the right to confirm all handicaps as well as make adjustments during the tournament if necessary. All player handicaps for the Championships may be adjusted based on the slope and rating of the course played. Those players whose handicap is rated only on hickory may also face some adjustment. All decisions of the Championship Committee shall be final.
