November's event was held at Royal Queensland Golf Club. We thank RQ for welcoming Hickory Golfers Queensland to the venue.
A week of rain and forecast thunderstorms and humid conditions limited nominations to only 11 hardy souls. Players teed off in hot and humid conditions. Fortunately the storms held off and the field made it around without raising an umbrella.
Your reporter again bought in the winner. Wally Boydell had an exceptional score of 21 points to pip Dr Peter Monks who was returning from injury to produce some good form and shoot 20 points. Third place went to the ever consistent Treasurer who beat Ian King on a countback with 17 points.
Wally picked $25 for first place, Peter $10 for second and Bradley $5 for third.
December event will be a triple treat! We will be playing an 18 hole stableford for the Norman Von Nida Trophy. This will be run in conjunction the the final round of the washed out Queensland Masters and then its topped off the Christmas dinner.
Good luck and good golfing.
