MATCH REPORT

What a spectacular day!  It was the US Masters weekend and the conditions were perfect.

Its great to 18 holes of Hickory at RQ and thanks go the the club for accommodating the hickory group.

A field of 12 played and a special thanks to Lindy for playing and representing our lady members.

It was also great to see Nudgee Golf Club members Ross Haslam and Colin Marshall play and post a good score.

The day was organised superbly by President Rob even though he only jetted in from NZ the day before and then found the remote gates didn't want to open on his way to the early tee time.  Despite the challenges all went well. 

The perfect conditions produced some good results but none better than the Father/Son team of Philip and Henry Akes.   The duo returned with 39 Stableford points to pip Ross Bishop and Ivan Hodges by a point with President Rob and Lindy Armsden coming in a further point back in third.

Don't forget the Australian & Asia Pacific Hickory Golf Championship to be held on 5,6 & 7 July to be followed by the Queensland Championship on 9 July 2026 at Indooroopilly Golf Club. Details can be found at the special Australian Championship website.
